About This Site
While my primary focus for this site has been to explore my mechanical engineering side, there’s another passion of mine that quitely thrives behind the scenes: maintaining a homelab. I’ve found immense fascination in building and optimizing systems, exploring the intricacies of networks, and experimenting with various technologies.
Rather than opting for the simplicity of platforms like Squarespace or WordPress, I embarked on a journey for a bit more of a challenge. This website isn’t just a showcase of my projects; it’s a testament to my desire for taking things into my own hands. The backbone of this site is the Hugo static website generator, which has been very fun to learn.
But the challenge didn’t stop there. Instead of relying on external hosting services, I’ve taken the self-hosting route, utilizing an Oracle VPS (Virtual Private Server) and configuring Apache2 as the webserver, with LetsEncrypt handling my SSL certificates.
One notable aspect of this website is the integration of interactive 3D models, made possible thanks to the “model-viewer.dev” project. This feature allows me to showcase my projects in a dynamic and engaging manner, providing a truly immersive experience.
So, as you explore this site and delve into my portfolio, know that it’s not just a showcase of my mechanical engineering endeavors; it’s a reflection of my dedication to craftsmanship, innovation, and continuous learning across both physical and digital domains.
